Music, code, and self-hosted infrastructure
Hey there! I'm jord is bored, a 24-year-old music producer, web developer, and self-hosting enthusiast based in Alberta, Canada. I have experience working for an ISP as tech support and am a victim of childhood piano lessons, so music has always been in my life.
I've been doing web development as a hobby since 2021 when I started my ISP job, and since then I've expanded my skills and list of technologies I work with. This portfolio is a passion project built with the hope that it will attract employment opportunities and showcase my skills.
I'm open to both remote work and in-person opportunities in Alberta. I typically work on personal projects but would love to work in a more professional environment if given the chance.
I used to use Auxy on my iPhone 6s to make beats and kind of fell out of the hobby, but in 2023 I bought Ableton Live and a Novation Launchkey MK3 61 key. Since then I've been building my technique and collection of plugins, samples, and finished projects.
I like to make whatever comes to mind. I'm still getting familiar with Ableton and Serum 2 among other plugins I use. Usually EDM, but I like to make trance. I took piano lessons as a child, but music production I'm self-taught, and I feel like it shows a bit if I'm being honest lol. I've been doing it on and off for about a decade now.
My Setup: Ableton Live 12, Serum 2, Synplant 2, all just running on my desktop/gaming PC. I try to make music on my MacBook Pro 2019 but it's showing its age so I usually prefer the PC.
My web radio station is where I play some of the songs from my music library that I enjoy. It's hosted on my Raspberry Pi so it's definitely a hobby project, but I update it when I find new music I enjoy, so pretty often. All my finished projects can be found on SoundCloud.

My favorite technologies to work with are Docker containers, and bun projects using Astro as a framework is my typical go-to when deploying. I believe in the power of open-source software, self-hosted solutions, and creative independence.
I really like web radio stations or anything that gathers people in a novel way. A project that inspires me is radio.kwsx.online - a web radio with an interesting approach to their style and music variety, and their site is very beautiful.
In both music and code, I'm constantly learning and experimenting. The intersection of creativity and technology offers endless possibilities, and I'm excited to explore them all.
